Conferences We Attend

2023 was a challenging year for many bioprocess tools and service providers, but Hapatune sees many signs of market headwinds shifting to tailwinds in 2024 – from clinical successes to new investments. To reflect this encouraging new environment, we adopted the 2024 motto “The Tide is Turning.” We keep regular tabs on the market trends by attending a collection of events both big and small around the world – check below for our latest schedule where you can meet with us in person and learn how we can help your tools or service business ride the wave in 2024 and beyond.

JAN 16-19, 2024Advanced Therapies Week / Miami, FL

What: A combination of partnering and exhibition, ATW (or “Phacilitate” to the industry veterans) is an event that highlights the latest in cell and gene therapy business and market trends. This is not a technical forum but rather provides a broad overview of the CGT industry while affording good networking opportunities.
Who: CGT developers; CGT tools and service providers; investors.

MAR 19-21, 2024TIDES Asia / Kyoto, JP

What: A Japan-focused event for peptide and oligonucleotide-based therapeutics that still brings a global flavor. More recently, mRNA and gene- editing content has also been included. A scientific program including posters and oral presentations, with topics ranging from discovery to R&D to CMC and commercialization. A small but growing exhibition for peptide/oligo/mRNA tools and service providers reflects the emergence of oligos and mRNA in Japan and throughout Asia.

MAY 7-11, 2024ASGCT Annual Meeting / Baltimore, MD

What: An impressive event hosted by the nonprofit American Society of Gene And Cell Therapies, the annual meeting comprised of workshops, tools + technology forums, oral presentations, industry-sponsored symposia, posters, and an exhibition for tools and service providers. While focused on its US membership, there is still an international presence at this meeting with a mix of industry, academia, and patient advocates.
Who: CGT developers; CGT tools and service providers; academics; patient advocates; media.

MAY 14-17, 2024TIDES USA / Boston, MA

More recently, mRNA and gene- editing content has also been included. A strong scientific program including posters and high-profile oral presentations, with topics ranging from discovery to R&D to CMC and commercialization. An impressive exhibition landscape for peptide/oligo/ mRNA tools and service providers. Highly recommended if you wish to learn about this space.

This year’s annual meeting includes presentation tracks on basic and discovery research, bioprocessing & manufacturing, regulation & policy, therapeutic development, and tools & tech. An exhibition for tools and service providers is accompanied by a dedicated Innovation Zone for emerging and early-stage CGT developers and tools providers and includes a unique “pitch session” aimed at strategic partners and investors.
